Traveling abroad has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of exploring new cultures, trying new foods, and meeting new people from all over the world. And so far, I’ve been lucky enough to visit 17 countries, each one with its own unique charm and character.
One of the things I love most about traveling is the opportunity to learn and grow. Sure, you can read about other cultures and customs in books or online, but there’s nothing quite like experiencing it firsthand. Seeing how people live, work, and interact in other parts of the world has broadened my horizons and given me a more nuanced understanding of the human experience.
But it’s not all about learning and self-improvement. Traveling is also incredibly fun and exciting. From exploring ancient ruins in Greece to surfing in Australia, every trip is filled with new adventures and experiences. And while there are always challenges and setbacks (like getting lost in a foreign city or dealing with a language barrier), those moments can also be some of the most rewarding. I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to travel and experience the world. Each trip has left me with memories and lessons that will stay with me for a lifetime, and I look forward to continuing to explore new parts of the world in the future.
Spain

Barcelona is a city that is well-known for its beautiful architecture, delicious food, and vibrant culture. When I had the opportunity to travel to Spain, I made sure to spend some time in this city to soak in all of its amazing offerings. One of the main attractions in Barcelona is the La Sagrada Familia church, which is still under construction. This breathtaking basilica was designed by Antoni Gaudi, a Catalan architect who is renowned for his unique, modernist style. The church features an intricate facade adorned with sculptures that tell stories from the Bible. The inside of the basilica is equally impressive, with towering columns and an ornate ceiling that seem to stretch endlessly upwards.
But Barcelona is more than just La Sagrada Familia. The city is also famous for its stunning beaches, lively nightlife, and incredible food scene. One of the highlights of my trip was exploring the Gothic Quarter, where I discovered narrow alleyways and hidden plazas lined with charming cafes and shops. I also indulged in some of the local cuisine, sampling tapas, paella, and other traditional dishes that were bursting with flavor.
Another must-visit attraction in Barcelona is Park Guell, which is another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces. The park features whimsical, mosaic-covered sculptures and buildings that are unlike anything I’ve seen before. From the terraced gardens to the colorful, undulating dragon sculpture, every corner of the park is a feast for the eyes. Overall, my time in Barcelona was nothing short of amazing. The city’s stunning architecture, rich culture, and delicious cuisine left me with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
Thailand

I still remember my first ever trip out of Cambodia and how excited I was for the adventure. We embarked on a long journey by car, leaving Phnom Penh at 4am and arriving in Bangkok at 9pm – almost 24 hours on the road! We encountered some inconvenience along the way, as we had to wait for many hours at the security border.
I also recall that the hotel we first stayed in did not feel quite right, so we decided to switch to a fancier one. As a first-time traveler, I didn’t really know what to expect. However, since that first trip, I have returned to Bangkok more than 6 times and have learned to appreciate the city’s many delights, such as its food and shopping experiences.
Japan

Going to university is often one of the most exciting times in a young person’s life, and I was no exception. After graduating from grade 12, I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to study at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University for four years. These years were some of the happiest and most fulfilling of my life, full of new friends, activities, and opportunities to learn and grow. One of the highlights of my time at university was the many new friends that I made. The diversity of the student body was incredible, with people from all over the world coming together to learn and socialize. I made friends from all corners of the globe, and these connections have continued to be important to me even after graduation.
Aside from the social life, I was also actively involved in various activities and organizations on campus. I was even the president of the Cambodia community, where I was able to connect with other students from Cambodia and promote our culture on campus. This allowed me to develop my leadership skills and expand my network of contacts.
Finally, one of the most important aspects of my university experience was the part-time job I held. It was my first exposure to real work, and I quickly learned how to balance my academic and professional responsibilities. This was an invaluable experience that helped me to develop a strong work ethic and appreciate the value of hard work.
Overall, I am grateful for the opportunities that my university experience provided me, both in terms of personal growth and professional development. I encourage any young person considering university to embrace the experience with an open mind and a willingness to learn, as it can truly be a transformative time in your life.
Singapore

Travelling is one of the most exciting experiences that one can have in life. It allows you to explore new places, meet new people, and broaden your horizons. One of my most memorable travel experiences was my first trip to Singapore to attend my uncle’s wedding. It was an opportunity for me and my family to explore a new city and immerse ourselves in a different culture. From the moment I arrived in Singapore, I was struck by how modern and developed the city was. The infrastructure was impressive, the skyline was filled with towering skyscrapers, and the streets were clean and well-maintained. It was evident that Singapore was one of the most advanced countries in Asia.
During our visit, we explored many of the city’s famous attractions, including Sentosa Island and the Bay. Sentosa Island was a fun-filled destination with beautiful beaches, theme parks, and a host of activities for visitors. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. The Bay was another one of our favorite spots. We walked along the waterfront, admiring the stunning views of the skyline and the beautiful Marina Bay Sands resort. It was an incredible sight that left us in awe of the architectural wonders of Singapore.
One of the most memorable moments of the trip was waking up in the morning in our beautiful beachfront house. The view was breathtaking, and the weather was cool and refreshing. It was the perfect start to a day filled with adventure and new experiences. In conclusion, my first trip to Singapore was an unforgettable experience. From the beautiful beaches to the modern infrastructure, it was a city that captivated my heart. It was an opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture, explore a new city, and create lifelong memories with my family. I look forward to visiting Singapore again soon and exploring all that this amazing city has to offer.
China

Traveling to a foreign country can be a daunting experience, especially if you don’t speak the local language. However, when you have a friend to guide you, everything becomes much easier. This is what happened to me when I traveled to China.
My friend is Chinese, and he helped me plan my trip to China. We first went to Beijing, the capital city of China. The first place we visited was the Forbidden City, a historic imperial palace that was used by the emperors of China for over 500 years. The palace is a huge complex with thousands of rooms, and it was fascinating to see how the emperors lived their lives. After that, we traveled to Guangzhou province to visit my friend’s house. I was amazed by how beautiful and luxurious the house was. The furniture, the decorations, and everything else was top-notch. However, I had a hard time sleeping on the cow skin bed sheet in their guest room. It was a unique experience, to say the least. My friend’s mom was incredibly nice and hospitable. She treated us to durian, a type of fruit that is popular in Asia, and even paid for my haircut. We also did many activities with my friend’s family, which made the trip even more enjoyable.
Next, we went to Shanghai to visit Disneyland. However, I didn’t enjoy it much as I am scared of roller coasters and other thrilling rides. But it was still great to be there and see all the fun and excitement. One night in Beijing, there was a terrible storm, and we were stranded in the city. We had to find a place to stay for the night, and we ended up in a creepy-looking house. The house had an eerie vibe, and my friends even claimed that it was haunted. But I didn’t feel anything strange, and I slept soundly through the night.
In conclusion, my trip to China was an unforgettable experience. Even though I didn’t speak Chinese, I was able to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the country with the help of my Chinese friend. From the Forbidden City to my friend’s luxurious house and the spooky house in Beijing, each place had its unique charm and left a lasting impression on me.
Vietnam

Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, is a city full of surprises. From the vibrant street markets to the rich history, Hanoi has something for everyone. I had the pleasure of spending three nights in this beautiful city and it was an unforgettable experience. I stayed at my friend’s house during my visit to Hanoi, which was an ideal opportunity to experience the local lifestyle. My friend was kind enough to show me around the city, and we visited several historical sites, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature. As a history buff, it was fascinating to learn about the rich culture and heritage of Hanoi.
However, what I loved the most about Hanoi was the food. Hanoi has some of the cheapest, freshest, and most delicious food I have ever tasted. From the famous Pho to the scrumptious Banh Mi, the food was a highlight of my trip. Every meal was a new adventure, and I enjoyed trying new dishes that I had never heard of before.
One of my fondest memories of Hanoi was riding a bicycle through the city. The weather was perfect, and the scenery was breathtaking. I felt like a local, riding through the narrow streets and alleyways, taking in all the sights and sounds of the city. However, one thing that took some getting used to was crossing the road. The traffic in Hanoi can be overwhelming, and I was hesitant to walk across the road. But my friend assured me that it was safe, and I eventually got the hang of it.
Overall, my experience in Hanoi was incredible. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, and the city had so much to offer. I would highly recommend visiting Hanoi to anyone who is looking for an adventure, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of this beautiful city.
Malaysia

Traveling to new places is always an adventure. After my trip to Singapore, I decided to visit Malaysia. I took a night bus and reached there in just 6-7 hours. The journey was quite comfortable, and I got to see some beautiful landscapes along the way. When I reached Malaysia, I stayed in a hostel with my friend. The place was cozy and comfortable, and the people were very friendly. I loved the atmosphere there. The next day, we went to the famous Petronas Twin Towers. It was a great experience to see the towering skyscrapers up close. The architecture was amazing, and the view from the top was breathtaking.
One of my favorite things about Malaysia was the food. I tried a lot of local dishes, and everything was delicious. But what I loved the most was the milk tea. It was a perfect blend of tea and milk, and I couldn’t get enough of it. Apart from sightseeing and eating, we also went to a water park. It was a lot of fun, and we bought a VIP pass, so we could play all day long. We tried all the rides, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Overall, my trip to Malaysia was amazing. I got to see some beautiful places, try delicious food, and have fun with my friend. I would love to go back there someday and explore more of the country.
United State of America

Traveling to new places is always an exciting experience, and my trip to the United States was no exception. During my 3-month stay in the US, I had the opportunity to visit 15 different states, including some of the most iconic destinations such as New York City, California, and Florida. I stayed in Philadelphia with my relatives, and they were my gracious hosts during my trip.
One of the most memorable experiences I had was when I decided to go on a solo trip to California. It was my first time traveling alone, and I was a bit nervous at first. Unfortunately, I lost my way and my phone battery was dead. I was lucky to meet a kind stranger who helped me find my way. Looking back, I realize that meeting strangers can be risky, but I am grateful that it turned out to be a positive experience.
The best part of my trip was visiting the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The view of the bridge and the bay was simply breathtaking. It was a moment that I will cherish forever. After California, I traveled to Fresno to meet up with my friends. We went on a road trip to Los Angeles and visited some of the famous tourist attractions such as the Hollywood sign and museums. We had a lot of fun and created some amazing memories.
During my stay in the US, I also had the opportunity to experience the New Year’s countdown in New York City with my senior. The city was crowded, and we decided to celebrate in a Korean restaurant. It was a unique and unforgettable experience. Overall, my 3-month stay in the US was an incredible journey. I met many new people, experienced different cultures, and explored new things. It was a life-changing experience that taught me a lot about myself and the world around me. I hope to have more opportunities to travel and explore new places in the future.

Italy

Italy is a country of great history and culture, filled with beautiful cities and landscapes. For my next destination, I chose to explore two of its most famous cities, Venice and Milan. My first stop was Venice, known for its unique architecture and canals. As soon as I arrived, I was immediately captivated by its beauty. The city looked like a palace on the sea, with stunning buildings that seemed to float on the water. I spent hours wandering through the narrow streets, marveling at the beauty of the city.
One of the best moments in Venice was watching the sunset. The colors of the sky were reflected on the water, creating a magical atmosphere. The sunset gave the city an even more enchanting quality, making it a moment that I will never forget. Although I went to Venice alone, I was able to make friends with lots of foreigners. Nighttime in Venice was lively and exciting, with lots of people out and about. I met people from all over the world and we talked and laughed together. It was a great experience to connect with other travelers and share stories. Venice is like a city from a movie, with its unique architecture, winding streets, and canals. It’s a place that’s hard to describe in words, but must be experienced to truly understand its beauty.
Next, I traveled to Milan, the fashion capital of Italy. Milan is a city of contrasts, with its old-world charm mixed with modern fashion and design. The city has a lot to offer, from its stunning architecture to its world-famous shopping. Overall, my trip to Italy was an amazing experience. I was able to explore the beauty and history of Venice and the fashion and design of Milan. But it was Venice that truly stole my heart. The city was a palace on the sea, filled with enchanting moments that I will cherish forever.
Austria

As my time in Europe was coming to an end, I had one last destination on my list – Austria. I decided to take a night train to Vienna and was excited to experience this new mode of transportation. It was my first time traveling by night train, and I must say, it was quite an experience. The journey was long, but I was able to get a good night’s sleep and arrived in Vienna feeling refreshed.
One of the things that surprised me the most about Austria was its food. The most famous dish in Austria is fried pork, which is usually served with beer. I was a bit skeptical about trying it at first, but I couldn’t resist the temptation. And I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The combination of the crispy pork and the cold beer was the perfect match. Most of my time in Austria was spent in Vienna, and I was happy to stay in a nice hotel. After weeks of traveling and exploring new cities, I was feeling quite tired and needed some rest. The hotel was very comfortable, and I was able to relax and recharge my batteries. I did venture out a few times to explore the city, and I must say, Vienna is a beautiful city with a lot of history and culture.
As my time in Austria came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. This trip had been such an incredible adventure, and I had seen and experienced so much in just a few months. But I was also excited to go back home and share my stories with my family and friends. This trip had taught me so much about different cultures and ways of life, and it had given me a new appreciation for the world we live in. I knew that I would always cherish the memories of this trip, and I couldn’t wait to plan my next adventure.
Portugal

After relocating to France, I was excited to embark on my first trip to Spain and Portugal. Our first stop was the charming coastal town of Lagos in Portugal, known for its stunning beaches and thriving tourist scene. As soon as we arrived, I was struck by the vibrant energy of the place. There were so many people from all over the world, speaking different languages and enjoying the warm sunshine. It was such a refreshing change from the busy streets of Paris.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Lagos was the food. There were so many delicious options to choose from, including fresh seafood, pastries, and of course, the famous Portuguese custard tarts. But my favorite discovery was the ice cream – creamy and flavorful, it was the perfect treat to cool down after a long day of exploring. We spent our days lounging on the beaches and exploring the colorful streets of Lagos, and each night we would dine on fresh, local cuisine and mingle with fellow travelers. It was a truly unforgettable experience that left me feeling inspired and invigorated.
As I reflect on my trip to Portugal, I’m reminded of how wonderful it is to explore new places and try new things. It’s easy to get stuck in a routine, but traveling allows us to break free from our comfort zones and experience the world in a whole new way. I can’t wait to see where my next adventure takes me.
